FRIDAY MAY 21 TIME TBD
LOCATION TBD
We'll have some sort of welcome event! Not sure on the details yet, but plan for joining us on the Friday evening for some food, drinks, and casual hangs. We'll update this site and let you all know when we have more details to share.
Dress code: TBD. We may have a theme, but no need to bring anything too fancy.
SATURDAY MAY 22 TIME TBD - As late as you want
The Winthrop Barn
Join us for the wedding ceremony, followed by a picnic dinner and a Barn party
Dress code: We don't care what you wear as long as you feel good and excited to celebrate. Much of the wedding will be outside in the grass (picnic dinner!) so maybe leave the stilletos at home.
If you need guidance, think summer dresses and button up shirts. You can match the Winthrop Western vibe with a hat, bolo tie, or boots if you'd like. Wear what you love and feel good in - we're just happy to see your faces!
SUNDAY MAY 23 FROM 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM
The Winthrop Barn
Don't leave without saying goodbye. Stop by to share some breakfast, cure your hangover with the hair of the dog, or just hang out by the river
Dress Code: Truly casual - come ready to play lawn games, lounge in the sunshine, or go for a dip in the river.
Winthrop is a bit of a drive from everywhere, but it's one of the most beautiful drives you'll ever do - we promise!
Plan to fly into Seattle, WA and then rent a car.
*You can also fly into Vancouver, BC, but crossing the international border into the US in a rental car may incur additional charges or not be allowed - make sure you check before booking a car!
We HIGHLY recommend taking Highway 20 through North Cascades National Park (~4 hours from Seattle, ~4.5 hrs from Vancouver). This is the quickest route and it's stunningly beautiful - plan for extra time to take in the view on the way.
*Note that Highway 20 is closed during winter, so if you're looking at an online map November-April, this route may not show up and the drive may look longer.
We've got some big vans (as most of you know) and can help coordinate vehicles and rides from the airport and within Winthrop over the weekend, so reach out if you need help sorting out your transportation.
Everything wedding-related will be within a short walk from town. You are also welcome to bike if you want to go a bit further or move a bit faster. Bike rentals are available in town if you can't bring your own and want one for the weekend.
However, if you're keen to get out on a hike or other adventure, you will need access to a vehicle.
There are no taxis. Uber and Lyft technically exist in Winthrop, but are unreliable options., so don't count on a ride-share to get around.
We highly recommend you book somewhere within the town of Winthrop. We will NOT be providing any transportation (and cabs/ride shares aren't really a thing), so if you are too far to walk, you will need to drive yourself back after the party.
We recommend booking as far in advance as possible to ensure you get something you're excited about and close to the wedding.
We'll be hosting events Friday night through Sunday morning, but you're welcome to arrive early or stay late. For our Canadian friends, it's May long weekend, so we'll definitely be staying till Monday and would love for you to join us.
Methow Reservations is the best option to search among many accommodation options at once. For hotels/lodges, we recommend:
The Bunkhouse (cool motel style)
River's Edge Resort (cabin-style)
Hotel Rio Vista (hotel downtown)
North Cascades Mountain Hostel (much more than a hostel)
Pine Near RV Park has tent and RV spots. They are right in Winthrop and a perfect location for attending all wedding events.
There are several other campgrounds within a short drive.
If you want the ultimate budget experience, there is free camping up the Chewuch river, but you will need to drive to the wedding events.
Winthrop has cracked down pretty hard on short term rentals, so you won't find a lot of options on AirBnB, but check out Methow Reservations for lots of full house or cabin rentals.
